SFMA Guidance

SFMA communicates important information to supervised institutions, providing them with guidance on regulatory matters. Referred to as SFMA Newsletters until November 2014, SFMA guidance, which is targeted at specific groups of supervised institutions, focuses on topical regulatory issues and raises awareness about current risks.

SFMA guidance is intended to help supervised firms to be proactive and forward-looking, supporting them in their compliance with financial-market law.

Published infrequently, SFMA guidance provides information to supervised firms in a transparent, flexible and, where necessary, ad hoc manner. Unlike its ordinances and circulars, SFMA guidance is not a supervisory tool, aiming rather to ensure proper application of the rules in practice. It sets out to promote a successful outcome and does not have legal impact.
