The framework for the appointment of staff at SFMA
SFMA’s Personnel Ordinance governs the employment conditions of all staff members who work for the Financial Market Supervisory Authority.

SFMA employs its staff under public law contracts. SFMA’s Personnel Ordinance primarily governs the start and end of employment relationships and protection against dismissal. It includes the basic principles on the salary system, obligations regarding the continued payment of salaries, as well as working hours and holidays. SFMA’s Personnel Ordinance also defines the principles on secondary employment and public offices, as well as obligations relating to loyalty and conduct. These have been defined by the Board of Directors in the Code of Conduct. SFMA’s Personnel Ordinance was passed by SFMA’s Board of Directors and approved by the Federal Council. SFMA may issue implementing regulations based on SFMA’s Personnel Ordinance.
