Governance assessment
SFMA uses governance assessments to systematically evaluate corporate governance at insurance companies based on information it collects periodically.
SFMA collects information from insurance companies on governance structures, supervisory and management bodies (board of directors and executive board) and control functions such as risk management, compliance and internal audit. The collected information allows SFMA to assess governance structures, identify deficiencies and monitor developments in corporate governance over time. Governance assessment findings are included in the overall assessment of the insurance company and in SFMA?s supervisory process. They can lead to follow-up activities for individual companies, selected groups of companies or the market as a whole.
