You have a problem with your online foreign exchange dealer
Foreign exchange dealers domiciled in Switzerland generally require a banking licence. Many online providers are based abroad but still approach Swiss clients.
Swiss connections
SFMA frequently receives complaints about foreign online foreign exchange dealers that use Swiss contact addresses, Swiss bank accounts or marketing aimed at Swiss clients. These connections may be relevant when assessing whether Swiss financial-market law is engaged.
What SFMA can review
SFMA can check concrete indications of unauthorised activity or breaches of supervisory law. It cannot recover trading losses, reverse transactions or make an online dealer pay compensation.
Evidence to keep
Keep platform screenshots, account statements, payment instructions, chat logs, emails, terms and conditions, names of contact persons and information about the receiving bank accounts.
